This past April, in honor of Earth Day, Her Kai & I spent a grounding afternoon at a GreenThumb garden in Brooklyn alongside our friends at Ital Emporium. Together, we planted kale, cauliflower, bok choy, onion, and more—a quiet offering back to the soil that sustains us.

But the impact didn’t stop in the garden. After harvesting these nourishing ingredients,Ital Emporium transformed them into plant-based meals that serve their community—bridging the gap between cultivation and care, seed and sustenance.

We believe caring for the planet is an extension of caring for each other. Our Earth Day garden day was a reminder that small, collective acts, when rooted in intention, can ripple outward. With Ital Emporium turning the raw harvest into food made with love, this initiative wasn’t just about sustainability, it was about nourishment in every sense.
